The series „I“ further explores the role of chance. Each of the 5 images is based on a view down a city street. The motif was selected to incorporate the sense of perspective: the view of an individual. The use of the pigment derived from the electrochemical process electrolysis expresses the sense of the human as a constructed node within myriad systems. Within this familiar framework, an algorithm based on the element of chance was used to generate the image. Random number selection was used to determine the number of steps along the path of the urban skyline and the radius oft he circles. The flip of a coin determined whether a circle was drawn and which side of the line it occupied.
